Before We Ride

Every session begins with clear communication and thoughtful preparation.

All riders in youth MTB programs participate in an assessment ride before being assigned to a skill-based group.

We send text updates and instructions before each ride (location, conditions, gear reminders).

Our small groups help us to be adaptable and go with the flow— routes and activities shift based on weather, trail conditions, and group needs. We adapt and accomodate.

How We Ride

Our youth prgrams start with a casual and community focused moment of sharing our gratitude and catching up with our friends.

Each ride is based on a structured, safety-first foundation, including ABC bike checks and thoughtful route planning.

We warm up with skill-building drills designed to match each rider’s level and help them grow.

Repetition brings confidence and consistent skill development through sessioning trail features or segments.

Adventurous trail time applies those practiced skills to real trail scenarios, locking in the progression. A splash of adventure keeps the excitement high and brings the learning full circle

After We Ride

Photos and Videos are uploaded to an album and shared with riders after most sessions, so you can see the learning in action.

Riders are encouraged to review their recent rides, analyze their technique, and reflect on what we learned.

An intentional and focused review session helps solidify essential concepts and improve skill retention.

Ride Some More!

In addition to our regular weekly youth programming we offer other exicting ways to keep riding and learning!

Required Equipment

We require certain equipment for safety and development. Youth programs have the strictest gear standards; private lessons and tours are more flexible. Our goal is to keep every rider safe, prepared, and confident. The right equipment helps make that happen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you consider a beginner rider? An intermediate?

Our beginner mountain bikers are comfortable on green singletrack trails, excited to learn how to jump, and enthusiastic about building their bike skills. Intermediate riders are already getting some air, riding blue singletrack trails, and stoked to advance their skills even further. We do an assessment ride for the youth to find the group that best matches their skills and goals.

How can I set up an Assessment Ride?

Visit our contact us page and send us a message, or give us a call/text at 479-222-1073.

What happens if it rains or the trails are closed?

While safety is a priority, we strive to build gritty, resilient riders who respect the trails and make good choices. If lightning or other unsafe conditions are present, we will reschedule the ride to a predetermined rain date. Otherwise, we gear up, choose wet-weather routes, and come back stronger, more capable humans that don’t give up just because we’re uncomfortable.

Do you do jumps or drops?

Absolutely — but only with plenty of focus on fundamentals first. We work through closely supervised progressions that stay within each rider’s comfort and skill level. Coach Sam is PMBIA Level 2 Air Certified, which means every jump or drop we teach is built on proper technique and smart progression — never on guesswork or peer pressure.

We know folks love to get their wheels off the ground, and we help them do with intentional technique — when they’re ready.

What kind of bike and equipment will I need?

Most of our programs are mountain bike-specific, for which mountain bikes are required. Helmets are mandatory. Additional equipment requirements may vary by program. View equipment list.

Do you allow e-bikes?

Class I pedal-assist e-bikes are allowed in private lessons and tours. They are also allowed in our youth programs on a case-by-case basis, usually by medical necessity. We want to make sure all athletes have the opportunity to ride, but we also strive to keep things fair. We do not allow e-bikes when unsafe or disruptive to the overall group dynamic. Please reach out and schedule an assessment ride for youth program approval.

How long are sessions?

The session length depends on the program. Weekly youth programs are typically around 2 hours long, camps are 5 hours, and private lessons and tours are typically 3 hours or 6 hours but we can customize and accomodate other session lengths as needed.

What trails do you ride?

We rotate between a variety of local trail locations throughout the season to give riders experience on different terrain, features, and environments. Each session is planned with skill progression and safety in mind — starting on smoother, flowier trails and gradually introducing more technical elements as riders improve.

Some rides even start and end at different trailheads, creating a fun, point-to-point experience that feels like a mini shuttle adventure rather than a simple loop. Variety keeps things exciting and helps riders build confidence on a wide range of trails and conditions.
