If you have kids, this is the best place to start. Bring them straight into the Buddy Pegs Bike Shop to get their bike and helmet properly fitted and safety-checked for free. Whether they’re balance biking tots, not quite off the training wheels yet, or they’re whipping big sends, Pedal Kids will have some excellent programming available to your family on a drop-in or regular recurring basis. Kids love bike camp! (And so does Coach Sam!)
The Matthew Mark Foundation

This local nonprofit organization believes that “mountain biking can bring transformational change to both individuals and communities” and is “committed to providing affordable and accessible mountain bike coaching and mentorship”.
They provide life-changing mountain bike programming to at-risk youth and families enduring hardship… and they do it at free and reduced rates.
You can help make this impactful programming possible while you experience five-star tours and lessons from The Matthew Mark Foundation in the Mountain Bike Capital of the World. The jump jams with small to large airbag landers are a local favorite and the community loves the variety of clinics. They offer clinics to folks who are hesitant to get their wheels off the ground, as well as stylish shredders looking to add some more whips and tricks to their skillset — and even clinics for the ladies!

This local nonprofit organization has a mission of “Movement For All” —- In addition to their contributions in designing, building, and maintaining the vast majority of the trails in Northwest Arakansas, they offer free “Adult First Ride” lessons for adults who are not yet confident pedaling and balancing a bicycle on two wheels. If you are at all intimidated about riding a bicycle or if you think you could never do it, this is a great place to start! Trailblazers also has other great bicycle education programs for adults and youth, and tons of volunteer opportunities!
Ozark Bike Guides

If you really want to experience the Ozarks on a mountain bike, you need to ride with Ozark Bike Guides. They offer private coaching and skill-building and the Best tour and vacation packages in Northwest Arkansas. Stay for a week and experience must-see mountain bike trails along with hidden gems, while building your confidence and expanding your skills. Of course, they’ll take you through Coler and Slaughter Pen but don’t hesitate to ask about finding some incredible scenery and riding Downhill All Day!
Pedal It Forward

This local nonprofit organization is “Increasing the number of people who have access to bikes in Northwest Arkansas!” Through donations of used bicycles and equipment, and thousands of volunteer hours spent fixing up old bikes, Pedal it Forward was able to give over 2,800 bikes to those in need in 2023. If you or anyone you know cannot afford a bicycle, check it out and get pedaling!

This local nonprofit organization is “dedicated to empowering women through the rewarding sport of mountain biking.” They offer a monthly “Flagship Ride” with separate and supportive groups for all ability levels. WOZ also offers mountain bike skills clinics made for the ladies as well as private guiding and coaching.
